Merchandiser (Freelance)

📍 Amsterdam – Houthavens | 0,4 - 1 FTE I Preferred start date: asap

About the role

We're looking for a Freelance Merchandiser to build our collection vision strategy across all our licenses: how we build our collections, how many products per collection, and how each collection performs on margin. As we keep growing, we want to make those choices sharper and more deliberate. This is an assignment with real ownership, where your strategy will directly shape which products we bring to market and how well they perform.

You'll work closely with our Creative Director and Marketing Director to keep collection strategy aligned with our brand, and with our Product Development & Design team to bring our collections to life.

What you'll do

  • Shape our assortment architecture per license and category: product selection, segmentation, and collection size
  • Own our category strategy, turning market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activity into concrete input for our assortment
  • Run margin analyses per collection and translate them into commercial recommendations
  • Translate strategy into an executable buying plan: forecasting volumes and managing commitments per style
  • Support the rollout of new collections to sales and customers, and help us build better merchandising tools and processes

Who are you?

You bring 7–10 years of experience in Merchandising and/or Product Development & Buying, with a proven trackrecord in assortment planning, margin analysis, and commercial decision-making. You're strong analytically and organizationally, with a sharp eye for market trends and consumer behavior, and you communicate clearly and confidently with executive-level stakeholders. A background in fashion or lifestyle is a strong plus.

Practical information:

  • Availability: 16-24 hours per week, with room to scale up depending on your availability and our needs
  • Fee: € 90-110 per hour, depending on experience
  • Duration: an initial 3–6 months, depending on seniority and experience, with the possibility to extend

What We Offer

  • An inspiring workplace and homebase in the Houthavens, Amsterdam. Good to know is that our default way of working is office-based, with the possibility to work from home up to one day per week.
  • For a freelance position, working location and hours will be discussed in mutual conversation.A team full of energy, creativity, and amazing plush toys everywhere.
